Transforming Male Mental and Emotional Wellbeing
Brothers in Arms is a Scottish charity and self-contained online platform that supports men's mental and emotional wellbeing. Its mission addresses a challenge affecting families globally.
Approximately 75% of suicides are male. It's the leading cause of death for men under 45. Brothers in Arms aims to change these numbers.
The charity utilises technology that enables men to manage and support their mental and emotional wellbeing. They fund the research and development of our own digital support applications that create private, safe spaces for men to be themselves and empower them to seek support on their own terms.
90% of our users come from referrals, where one person tells another about us, so simply share our website link. And we don't mean someone you think has 'mental health' issues. We mean any bloke in your life — just share the website link and leave it at that. Since the site is autonomous, private, and anonymous, it will manage itself from there.
The Third Space platform on the website, which offers all our free digital therapeutic spaces, is also available in a single app, created specifically for men. These 'safe spaces', whether on the site or via the app, are entirely anonymous, with no data stored or collected. There are no likes, no shares, no opinions—just space: space to breathe, space to notice, and space to feel.
(Please note that they are not a crisis service. For immediate help, contact your GP or Samaritans at 116123.)
Brothers in Arms operates on donations from those touched by male suicide. Their lean structure ensures most funds directly support Scottish men.
The guiding principle is 'Prevention through self-management'. Help is offered before reaching crisis. Over 2000 men have used their therapeutic platform. Another 3000 have engaged with their support content.
The mission of Brothers in Arms is transformative. They use technology to improve male mental wellbeing and prevent men from taking their own lives. You can support them by doing something very simple: share their website with any guy you know, that's it. Thank you.
While we do not see technology as a replacement for human interaction and clinical care we do believe it should be used to enhance existing services and provide new opportunities for men to access the support they need.
Brothers in Arms is dedicated to Life Preservation, not Suicide Prevention

Most of us live between two worlds — the busy outside one, and the quiet one inside our own head.
But there’s rarely a place where the two can meet.
That’s what The Third Space Project is about.
It’s a calm digital space built for men — a place to slow down, gather your thoughts, and have a real conversation with yourself.
Not therapy. Not social media. Just somewhere between the noise and the silence, where you can breathe and reconnect with what’s going on inside.
In the Third Space, you can:
Pause for a few minutes when things feel heavy or confusing.
Reflect with tools that help you put feelings into words — even if you’ve never done that before.
Reconnect with yourself and, in time, with others.
You’ll meet Braveheart, a digital companion who listens and helps you find your own words.
You can chat, save reflections in your Journal, or explore Blethr and Baird, two parts of the same space that help you learn more about how men think, feel, and cope.
The Third Space isn’t about fixing you — it’s about helping you find your footing again.
It’s your own space, at your own pace.
A quiet corner in a loud world.
