We are pretty excited to announce that we have negotiated with Thrive our digital partner to extend both the Brothers-Thrive app and the Live Coaching Programme to 2024.
What does this mean?
That our NHS approved app will continue to be free to download for all men (from 15 to 55 and beyond) across Scotland via our website.
And our groundbreaking Live Coaching Programme which gives them access to their own mental-fitness coach, will also be free for up to 3500 male users.
The Mission for 2020 and beyond,
We want to create a 'Digital Safety Net' across Scotland by encouraging all men here to have the app on their phone, whether they feel they need it or not as something they can turn to for support at the right time.
So download it, forget about it, until you need it.
It's not about using it when in crisis, but as a way to help yourself sleep, to become calm when stressed, to meditate when anxious or to work on your own wellbeing goals.
Our multi-platform digital tool has all this and more embedded within it and has eight years of investment and research to get it to where it is today.
Did we mention its free to men in Scotland?.
You will get out of it what you put into it, like the gym, except this is a gym for the mind.
And all underpinned by an online coaching service from fully trained professionals via text-chat, Mon to Fri 8am to 8pm, anonymous and private, from your own room.
What can you do?
We've no money for marketing, we need it to keep the above happening and to keep it free, this has to be done organically and by those of you that support us letting others know, so share away to the men in your life, you could be saving it.
And talking of money, fundraising will be essential to keep this happening, so please keep us in mind if you are thinking of doing something.
We will continue as a volunteer-supported charity so that all funds will go to the digital service, which means we will still make mistakes and have cockups.
However, the focus has always been on making the availability of the app to download 24/7 and Live Coaching accessible Mon to Fri 8am to 8pm (excluding Bank Holidays).
With the support of Thrive, who really believe that we are unique in how we are using their tech to reach out to men, we have managed to get the costs down to around £60k per year until 2024.
That will keep it free to men in Scotland (did we mention that?)
We had around 11,000 downloads in 2019, it's not bad, but nowhere good enough, the male population of Scotland is around 5.438 million and being as we have the next highest male suicide rate in the UK with Northern Ireland being the worst than leaving it to chance or crisis does not make sense.
