Introduces the WORRINOTS
The Award winning Worrinots app has been designed specifically for primary school age children to encourage learning, understanding and the language of emotions and feelings. The Worrinots is a safe platform where children can engage with one of four characters to share what might make them anxious, cause distress or upset them and their focus on learning.
The Worrinots then inform an adult via the secure messaging service delivered to the monitoring app, WotNot. The adult has the option to respond directly back to the child if a response is needed, this allows for directional instructions to be offered directly to the child.
The app won Children's & Education app of the year at the end of 2017 and boasts high levels of security, no in app purchasing or advertising and no links to external websites. This is reassuring for adults knowing their children are in a safe place when their children are engaging with The Worrinots.
Within The Worrinots app age appropriate tips have been co-written and verified by a BACP registered counsellor, so children can turn to trusted tips and tactics in a secure environment to gain tips and coping mechanisms that can last a lifetime.
We know children are not keen to speak face to face with adults, so we developed The Worrinots app to help children manage this in a 21st century manner. When children's worries and fears are taken care of children are free to develop into well-rounded individuals. As parents/carers and educators we know that when children have a healthy well-being and children feel safe and happy, they thrive in their academic studies.
When you combine The Worrinots with the home or school environment; parents/carers and staff can feel assured children have someone to confide in, and feel at ease knowing the trusted tips are there for children in the secure confines of The Worrinots app.
In the school environment the Worri-tips contained within the app can be used to form the basis for a PSHE curriculum, to set out a whole school approach to learning positive language and coping mechanisms. When used in the home, the Worri-tips can be used to generate family time discussion.
There is an increasing number of children suffering with anxiety at young ages where children should have no worries. In the press we regularly see reports stating schools are unsure how to implement services for children to meet the needs of well-being and early intervention.
